THE NEXT STAGES IN DEVELOPMENT.
Demolition work on construction site A began in June 2022. The progress of the construction work can be followed via the two cameras installed at the site. Following the completion of decontamination work inside building 1038, the demolition work itself is now in full swing. The demolition is being carried out in a manner that is as environmentally friendly as possible.
The method being used allows the building to be dismantled floor by floor from top to bottom. In that way, noise, vibrations and dust can be reduced to a minimum. The above-ground demolition is expected to last until October 2023. This will be followed by the demolition of the basement floors.
In preparation for the renovation, the space above the former basement car park (see 1040 on the plan) has been covered with a protective tent that is equipped with an air filtration system and a chimney. The tent is being ventilated around the clock throughout the demolition. Once the basement car park is demolished, we plan to remediate the subsoil, with the tent offering protection.
The Air Hygiene Office will carry out air measurements from around the end of August, and the results of these will be made public. Once the remediation work is complete in autumn 2023, the protective tent will be moved so that it can be used elsewhere on the site and ensure safe remediation work through to summer 2024.
