1. Mr Wellensiek, you are the EMEA & APAC IFM Lead at Elanco in Basel. Would you briefly explain who Elanco is?

2. What does your concept entail, and what are your goals?
Elanco Basel is part of a large global company. Our office in Basel is focused on collaboration with external manufacturers and finance. Another pillar of the location is supporting the internal research and development teams as well as the procurement of raw materials for the manufacture of our products. That’s why our day-to-day work here in Basel underscores our Elanco promise to consistently innovate. This means that we are committed to our customers and constantly work to earn their trust by improving the health of animals and creating binding added value through innovative products, expertise and service.

3. Why did you choose Rosental Mitte as your company location?
There are historical reasons for this, as Novartis Animal Health was originally located at this site and was incorporated into the company by Elanco in 2015. Since then, Elanco has had a strong foothold in Basel, and we feel that we are well positioned here as a company and also benefit as a team from the agile atmosphere that comes from the various other companies throughout the site. The choice to stay in Rosental Mitte is also due to the excellent transport connections and infrastructure. The Badische Bahnhof railway station, a multi-storey car park and local transport links are very close by and allow an excellent connection to the city centre and its many facilities. With Basel as a global pharma hub, Elanco is in the right place.

4. How is the interaction with the other companies?
Elanco has a friendly and neighbourly relationship with the other tenants in the building. It is also exciting for us to observe the development of existing companies and the arrival of new companies and in this way participate in the development of the site. There is no doubt that further opportunities for exchange and possible synergies will develop here in the future.
