Building 1033 will be converted into a laboratory and office building for several rental units by 2029. Until now, it was used as an office, warehouse and workshop building.

An open area will be created on the ground floor with an entrance area, meeting and function rooms and additional space for shops or services.

On the 1st to the 5th floors, there is an area with offices and laboratories, which can be rented by different companies. This offer is aimed specifically at start-ups that are growing and need more space. The top floor, which features an accessible roof terrace, is intended for office use only.

Construction work will begin in 2026 with demolition inside the building. The actual conversion will start in 2027. The new rooms should be ready to move into at the beginning of 2029. Letting will commence in 2027 via the Immobilien Basel-Stadt portal.
